Sine Scape Studio | Fine Art Photography by Alan Hairsine
About the Artist

Alan Hairsine of rural Gaylord, MN is a self-taught photographer who has been taking photographs most of his life.  After a rewarding career in the food industry working in research and development for nearly 20 years, Hairsine established his small business, Sine Scape Studio, in 2006 to focus on his photography.  He now exhibits and sells his artwork at numerous juried fine art events throughout the state and region.

His images range from notable American landscapes and European scenes, to rustic prairie visions and abstracts.  He works primarily in digital mediums.  Much of his artistic inspiration comes from his life experience and travels.  "I grew up in the rolling farm country of southeastern Minnesota, then lived in Minneapolis and Chicago for several years before moving to the prairie.  The diversity of my background has helped me see things with a variety of perspectives."  His work has earned him several local awards.

Aside from his photographic pursuits, Hairsine has a degree in Food Science and is a Certified Beekeeper both from the University of Minnesota, a Certified Baker from the American Institute of Baking, and is a US patent recipient.  He is an avid outdoorsman keen on hiking and gardening, and combines his food science knowledge with his beekeeping pursuits to create hand-crafted meads, honey ales and specialty breads as a side interest.  He and his wife also sell their pure raw honey and garden produce at area farmer's markets and shops.
